Member Countries
Member countries are: According to its Rules of Procedures, the Technological Network on HIV/AIDS is open to new member countries. New membership is desirable, providing that countries make their formal interest known to the Executive Secretary and subsequently submitted to the General Assembly of Member Countries for deliberation.

Any country wishing to join the Technological Network on HIV/AIDS must meet the following criteria:

  1. To demonstrate political commitment to controlling the AIDS pandemic through the implementation of public health policies;
  2. To demonstrate interest in incorporating the flexibilities with respect to the management of the Intellectual Property Rights established by the relevant international agreements, especially the TRIPS Agreement and the Doha Declaration;
  3. To demonstrate installed technical capacity in the pharmochemical and/or pharmaceutical sectors and a clear interest in meeting quality control criteria for the products, as well as policies addressed to the progress in scientific and technological development in these areas.
